Summer + Fall 2022 Updates!

VAVA!
Hi! It's been a long time since I last wrote on here... mainly because half of the time I forgot to, and the other half I was super busy and never finished my drafts.

But hopefully I'll be able to post more from now on!

This post is all about my 2022 summer and fall/autumn, which went really greatπŸ’–

July 2022

July started off with a trip to Grand Bend with my cousins Nick, Ben, and Jess. The water was super cold and it was really windy. It was still super fun anyways, for the first few days. Then, my cousins left and we were all alone with my grandparents for the rest of the week!

Our trip ended after one week, and it was an overall nice experience and bonding time with family 😊

The rest of July we went to waterparks, went shopping (where Andrea fell in love with a Charmander), and went on a road trip to Kingston!

We only went to Kingston for 1 night, but it was still a fun time since we slept over at my Aunt (EE)'s house! This time it was just me, Athan (HH), my dad, and my mom! We got to Kingston at around 10 in the night, and in the morning we were in for a very tiring journey.

We were going kayaking at 1000 Islands!

My mom's friend from middle school came with her family from Hong Kong, and we would spend the whole weekend with them. We kayaked together, and it was very exciting and fun (although my arms would feel super sore the next day).

After kayaking, we had lunch with my cousins and mom's friend!

The next few days, we just hung out together in Mississauga and played MANY games of Uno with Mack, Liam, and Charlotte (mom's friend's children). We went to the rec room, the beach, watched Thor Love and Thunder, and did so many fun things together.

August 2022

meeeeee
We started off August with a 2 week stay at my grandparents' (dad's side) house for Church summer camp! Week 1, Audrey, Anne, and Amelia would go to camp while during week 2, it would only be Athan and Audrey going to camp.

During the first week of August, we went to the circus! It was so fun and while we were hoping there would be animals, we were disappointed πŸ˜…
colorful circus tent!

There were trapeze artists, stunt actors, and a LOT of overpriced food. It was really exciting and fun to watch too. Andrea was so excited and she ate soo much popcorn and cotton candy!
We also went to the Pacific Mall where I got a lot of stationary for the upcoming school year. We also got a lot of bubble tea ☕yom πŸ˜‹

Adding a silly 'lil photo of Andrea eating chocolate

she loves that chocolate pudding...

Me, Athan, and my mom went to Canada's Wonderland! Another part of my summer was going to Canada's Wonderland a lot, since we got the season pass. I love all the rollercoasters and rides! Leviathan is my favourite, but I'm still too nervous for Yukon Striker.

August 10, 2022

The next two days, we went strawberry picking with my cousins, Sage and Isaac! There were strawberries and sunflowers and the farm there was SUCH a beautiful place. As they say, "Pictures tell a thousand words" so I'll show you the abundance of pics I took :D

By the way, these strawberries were so juicy and yummy

how did I take this masterpiece of a photo?!

cute andrea <3

Isaac, my cousin

On August 17, it was Athan's birthday!! He turned 11 this year and is in Grade 6! He's a boy who's full of life and energy and loves Pokemon and gaming and basketball and everything boys like πŸ˜‚

We went to VAVA with him, a place with a lot of claw machines to play. Credits were expensive, but I managed to claw at least one toy! It was a bunny holding a peach!! So cute! πŸ‘

I caught this!

The next day after that, August 18 was a pretty normal day, but not at all a normal night. We were going to see Harry Potter, the Cursed Child at the Ed Mirvish theatre! Me, HH, my mom and dad went, leaving my sisters behind at my grandma's house.

The Cursed Child was such a good play, and I had already read the script beforehand, but the visuals of this play were so amazing. It tells a story of Harry Potter and his children years after the Battle of Hogwarts. 10/10 for visuals and 8.5/10 for the plot.

I just wanted to make a note here and say, during the summer we had SO MUCH BUBBLE TEA. IT WAS SO GOOOOOD! ☕ So here is a compilation of all the bubble tea this summer.

Thank you for waiting for that short break!! Lol.

A few days later, we went to a cottage for three days!! It was so fun. My grandparents on my Mom's side and my cousins Lyanna and Leia came as well.

Sunset w/pic of my uncle kayaking
During this trip, we went kayaking, paddleboarding, swam, and did a lot of stuff! There was also a Just Dance in the cottage which was super fun to play. This cottage was a 9/10 because of all the things there like at trampoline which was very cool.

Nearing the end of August, we went to Peterborough's free zoo with our bi-weekly prayer group! There were so many animals, and of course no lions or tigers, but animals nontheless!

on the train!

chugga chugga choo choo!!!

The train we went on was very slow, but there were no seatbelts so that's why. I guess I'm too used to the thrill rides at Canada's wonderland, which is why this one was boring to me πŸ˜‚

Speaking of Canada's Wonderland, the next day Me, my mom, and CC went to Canada's Wonderland with her friends! It was so fun although we didn't go on any big big rides.
the trio~

That week Athan and I also met up with my friends Jojo and Gigi to go swimming at the community center! 🏊‍♀️ We took the bus all the way to the community centre, went for fun swim, and rode the bus all the way back to our respective homes.

September 2022

At the beginning of September, for the long weekend, my mom and dad surprised us with a trip to Michigan, where we would sightsee museums and science centres.

The drive was around 2 or more hours, and the time flew by! We would stay there for 3 days in total.

crossing over ambassador bridge to MICHIGAN!!

First Day:

First stop was the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. There were two sections: the indoor museum and Greenfield Village (outdoors). We went to Greenfield Village first! \
Greenfield Village was basically a whole town modeling the times of Henry Ford and Thomas Edison. There was even a real life train!! πŸš‚ I'm pretty sure the train was steam powered, so that was super cool.

Mom, Amelia, and I on the train!

chugga chugga choo choo part 2
I definitely liked this train better than the one at the zoo πŸ˜‚ We rode all around the village, and then toured it on foot. It was soooo hot that day and we were all sweaty and tired by the end of it!

andreaaaaaaa

i loved the glass museum!!

The glass museum was one of my favourite parts (besides the train ofc) in Greenfield Village! There were SO many intricate designs and glass art. I highly recommend because of this.

next was the antique carousel 🎠 which was around 100 years old I believe! Amelia insisted on going on the carousel over and over and over again, which is why we spent around 20 minutes there πŸ˜‚

antique carousel

We also saw many old houses and buildings recreated or restored, and that was fun and cool (but I personally liked the glass museum much better (maybe coz it had AC and it was sweltering hot that day))

We also rode the Model T, Henry Ford's car. It was the first mass manufactured car in the world!

After that we watched a documentary in the movie theatre.

Finally, we called it a day and headed to the hotel. But first, took a swim in their pool! lol

Andrea yingying collapsed on the bed (half changed)

Second Day:

The second day, we went to Detroit, Michigan to see their Science Center! At first, we thought it was closed because of all the closed lights, but it was in fact open!

Right off the bat, we saw the World's first 3D printed car!!

If I remember correctly, this was
the (fake)Apollo 11 spacecraft!
me posing on the Mackinac Bridge (photographed by Athan)

This was a pendulum which turned the way it spun due to the Earth's rotation! Every few minutes, it would knock down a marble, and by the end of the day, all the marbles would be knocked down and it would restart again at 9am

Le Back to the Future deLorean

Finally, after a day at the science centre, we went back to Henry Ford's museum to watch a documentary about bears VOICED by Ryan Reynolds. 7/10 only because of Ryan Reynolds.

Finally ended the day with some sushi which was yummy πŸ˜‹

what's that bald guy in the back looking at??πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

After our dinner, we went back to our hotel and had a good night's rest. The next day, we would be leaving Michigan!

Third Day:

On the third day, we went back to Henry Ford's museum, but this time explore the indoor museum!! I think I liked this part best, because there was a super cool display that I'll talk about later πŸ˜‰

First off, this was the building which was really big. We saw a bunch of old presidential cars and how cars and trains were back in the day πŸ˜‚

an old diner

Everything was super cool in there, but the thing that really blew me away was this exhibit (which was only till January 2023 I believe) which showed THe ReAL LIFE COSTUMES of live action disney characters! The real actors wore them, which was what I found super cool and exciting. I took around 50 pictures in there and I can't fit them all in this blog, so I'll show my favourites:

Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad
Wolf (Johnny Depp) from Into
the Woods!

Cindrella's dress!!
Cinderella (Lily James) and the Fairy Godmother (Helena Bonham
Carter) in Cinderella live action movie!!

THE glass slipper!

Belle (Emma Watson)

After that, it was time to leave. We drove to London to wish my cousin Nick a happy birthday! He was turning 17! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures, but it was a really good time at London.

End of Summer Break

After our trip, school started on the next day and that was the end of our trip.
School started, and pretty quickly became a routine for all of us! There wasn't much significant that happened in September, other than Illumi, with Inez!! That light show was so amazing. Definitely recommend and it was super cool.

My mom bought tickets to Illumi, and it was definitely a night I will remember. We met up with Inez and her family and started touring the place! However, Athan got lost and it was a bit scary. Until we found him, thankfully πŸ˜… There are loads of pictures I took, and all of them are so beautiful!!!! But I'll only showcase a few here (meaning like 10 lol)

October 2022

A week into October, my parents and grandparents decided to go on a day trip near Algonquin Park to hike! This was actually one of the few hikes I did enjoy. I believe the round trip was 5 or so kilometers and we had lots of fun. Also, the lighting that day was immaculate and I got really good pictures.

The hiking trail was also really beautiful with such amazing scenery! πŸ‚πŸ

On October 11, it was my lovely sister Audrey's birthday. She's so sweet and so loving and kind all the time <3 I love her very much. Here's a pic of her cake:

That's it for my Summer + Fall updates! Overall, this summer was one of the funnest I've ever had with all the trips and spending time with my friends. I guess my dad expected us to make lots of money and be very productive, but I didn't really do that.
Fall is still here and I'm expecting it to be a really good autumn! Right now I'm in the middle of exam week and taking a break to write this. This blog is my longest one yet, and I know 3/4 of it is pictures, but I hope you all enjoyed!

Thank you to my loyal readers (and bots)

PS: I'm aiming to post my next blog in the next two weeks. (hint hint: christmas celebration for school)
